Getting Started
How do I create an account?
Sign up with your email address or use Google OAuth for one-tap sign-in. You can also use Guest Mode to start tracking subscriptions without creating an account -- your data stays on your device only.
How do I add my first subscription?
Tap the + button on the home screen, then search the catalog of 270+ services or enter details manually. You can set the name, price, billing cycle, and category. All users can scan up to 5 receipts per month with OCR to auto-fill subscription details — Premium users get unlimited scanning.
What is Guest Mode?
Guest Mode lets you track subscriptions locally without creating an account. Your data stays on your device only and will not sync across devices. When you create an account later, your existing subscriptions are automatically migrated to your new account.
Managing Subscriptions
How do I edit a subscription?
Tap any subscription to view its details, then tap the edit button to change the name, price, billing cycle, or category. Changes are saved immediately and synced across your devices if you have an account.
How do I delete a subscription?
Swipe left on a subscription in the list or tap on it and select delete from the detail screen. Please note that this action cannot be undone.
What categories are available?
SubMeow includes 10 built-in categories: Entertainment, Music, Gaming, Cloud, Software, Productivity, Fitness, News, Education, and Other. Each subscription can be assigned to one category to help you organize and analyze your spending.
Reminders & Notifications
How do reminders work?
SubMeow sends push notifications before subscription renewals and trial endings so you never get caught off guard. You can customize the timing in Settings to receive reminders at the interval that works best for you.
Can I set custom reminder times?
Premium users can fully customize reminder timing -- choose how many days before a renewal you want to be notified. Free users receive default reminders that are still designed to keep you informed before any charges.
Premium Features
What is included in Premium?
Premium unlocks unlimited OCR receipt scanning (free users get 5/month), advanced analytics and spending insights, data export (CSV), cat theme customization, home screen widgets, an ad-free experience, and priority support.
How much does Premium cost?
Premium is available for $0.99/month or a one-time lifetime payment of $9.99. Both options unlock all Premium features immediately.
How do I upgrade to Premium?
Go to Settings and tap Premium to see the available upgrade options. You can choose between monthly and lifetime plans. The upgrade takes effect instantly after purchase.
Account & Billing
How do I change my password?
Go to the login screen and tap "Forgot Password" to receive a password reset link via email. Follow the link to set a new password. If you signed up with Google OAuth, you do not have a SubMeow password -- manage your credentials through Google instead.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account directly in the app: go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. Your data will be permanently removed within 30 days. If you need help, contact support@submeow.com.
Can I export my data?
Premium users can export their subscription data as a CSV file. Go to Settings and look for the Export option. This is useful for record-keeping, tax purposes, or switching to another service.
Troubleshooting
Why are my subscriptions not syncing?
Make sure you are logged in with an account (not Guest Mode) and have an active internet connection. Your data syncs automatically when the app is online and you open the subscriptions screen. If the problem persists, try logging out and back in.
The app will not open. What do I do?
Try force-closing the app and reopening it. If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall SubMeow. If you have an account, your data is safely stored in the cloud and will be restored when you sign back in. If you were using Guest Mode, local-only data may be lost -- this is a good reason to create an account.
Deals, Achievements & More
What is the Deals section?
The Deals section is a community-powered coupon and discount board. Browse deals for popular services, vote on the best ones, and save money on your subscriptions. New deals are added regularly by the SubMeow community.
What are achievements and streaks?
SubMeow rewards you for staying on top of your finances! Earn badges for milestones like adding your first subscription, saving money, and maintaining daily streaks. Check your achievements in the Profile section of the app.
What is the Year in Review report?
At the end of each year, SubMeow generates a personalised Year in Review report showing your total annual spending, biggest subscriptions, most-used categories, and savings highlights. It is available to all users for free.
Does SubMeow support home screen widgets?
Yes! SubMeow offers home screen widgets for Android so you can see your upcoming renewals and spending summary at a glance without opening the app. Widgets are available to Premium users. Long-press your home screen and select Widgets to add SubMeow.
How does multi-currency support work?
You can track each subscription in its original currency (USD, EUR, GBP, TRY, JPY, and more). SubMeow converts all amounts to your chosen display currency so your analytics always show a consistent total. Set your preferred currency in Settings.
Privacy & Security
How do I set up biometric app lock?
Go to Settings → Security → App Lock and enable biometric authentication (Face ID or fingerprint). Once enabled, SubMeow will require biometric verification each time you open it. Your biometric data never leaves your device.
How do I cancel my Premium subscription?
Cancel anytime through your app store: on Android, go to Google Play → Subscriptions → SubMeow → Cancel. On iOS, go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → SubMeow → Cancel. You will keep Premium features until the end of your billing period.
Is my financial data safe?
Yes. SubMeow never connects to your bank — you enter subscription details manually. All cloud data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit, stored in EU data centers. We never sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
